Looking Lush: Richmond Lowlands and Cornwallis (Sydney by Technicality XIII)

Skating the floodplains of Sydney's northwest border, I'm out checking off a couple more Sydney by Technicality suburbs along the Hawkesbury.

Richmond Lowlands

Richmond Lowlands is a reasonably large patch of grass and farmland immediately northeast of Richmond. To head there, you best drive.

The green agricultural land in this suburb is definitely a sight for sore Sydney eyes, offering up a welcome change to the sweeping plains of Parramatta Road that we're more used to.

If you enjoy looking at impeccably flat land coated in bright green grass and burgers-to-be, this really is a very nice place for a Sunday drive.

Their sports fields are the same, just with a couple of goals and floodlights built in.

Keep reading for the drive over the border.

Richmond Lowlands: Greener than envy.

Cornwallis

Exit Richmond Lowlands to the east and you may find yourself in Cornwallis. Unsurprisingly, this place is just as green as Richmond Lowlands. Due to the direction of the roads, however, you also get some rather stunning Blue Mountains views in the horizon.

Things are otherwise not too different here from its western neighbour.

At the suburb's southeastern border, I was able to stop the car at a park named Deerubbin Park. Rather than any deers being rubbed, this park instead has some more sports fields,

places to sit or walk,

(bonus duck)

along with some obstructed views of the Hawkesbury River.

With the day's sun running out, I headed off to grab a couple more suburbs by technicality for the day.

Cornwallis: Also green.

  1. Cornwallis, now that's a suburb I have never heard of!
